Larch Hills Nordic Society Cross Country Skiing in Salmon Arm, BC, Canada

Trails were widened and in 1982, the forest service built a new logging road to replace the steep, muddy one now used as an outrun trail. After many stakeholder meetings, in 1982 the Larch Hills was designated a 1,620 hectare winter recreation area.

The Larch Hills Nordic Society. Our cross-country ski area, 20 km from Salmon Arm, is home to some of BC's finest trails. With over 170 km of ski trails, 57 km of which are regularly groomed, plus a further 17km of snow shoe trails, there is no shortage of variety for the outdoor enthusiast.

History. Dancing with the Shuswap Stars was initially conceived as a fundraiser for the Larch Hills Nordic Society chalet expansion. The first annual event was held in 2016 and was a smashing success. Plans were quickly made for a sequel the following year. Demand for tickets in 2017 was so high that tickets sold out the day they were made.

With the goal of consistent, high quality grooming, Larch Hills Nordic Society is raising funds to replace our aging 2007 PB Edge with a new PB 400. The estimated cost of the new grooming machine is around $600, 000. The club plans to apply for a BC Capital Gaming Grant in August 2023. With the savings we have already set aside for tracksetter.
